Authentic Boundaries: Practical Skills for Reducing Friction and Moving Work Forward

I’m Eva Papp, a psychotherapist with 25 years of experience helping professionals navigate complex interpersonal dynamics. I developed Active Authenticity, a practical framework that helps individuals express their priorities clearly while maintaining productive relationships.

I offer highly interactive, small-group trainings designed for managers and key contributors who want to improve alignment, cooperation, and forward momentum in their organizations.

These workshops teach practical boundary skills that help employees:

  • communicate priorities clearly

  • respond constructively to competing demands

  • move projects forward without creating unnecessary friction

  • maintain engagement and increase organizational goodwill

Participants leave with practical tools for making clear requests, navigating “yes/no” decisions productively, and generating workable solutions that respect both individual constraints and organizational goals.

This workshop is offered in both a half and full-day format.

Half-Day Training

The Three Boundary Skills

Participants learn three core boundary skills that support clear communication and aligned work. These skills are then applied through the Yes/No Strategy, a structured approach that helps teams move forward when requests cannot be accepted exactly as proposed.

The focus is on maintaining momentum while respecting capacity, priorities, and constraints.

Full-Day Training

Building Solutions That Create Ease

The full-day program allows participants to practice the Yes/No Strategy more deeply by learning how to generate multiple workable options when navigating requests and competing priorities.

Participants are also introduced to the Hierarchy of Ease, a practical framework for identifying solutions that are both achievable and increasingly satisfying for the people involved.

The final portion of the workshop integrates these tools so participants can apply them to real workplace situations, improving alignment and decision-making across teams.

Training Format

These highly interactive sessions combine short teaching segments, guided exercises, and structured discussion so participants can immediately apply the skills to real workplace scenarios.

Workshops can be delivered in half-day or full-day formats and customized to address the specific communication and alignment challenges within your organization.

If you’d like to explore whether this training is a good fit for your team, feel free to reach out to discuss your organization’s goals.

What Workshop Participants Are Saying …

“Tonight's presentation was excellent and so validating!  We navigate a journey riddled with so many opportunities to face boundaries and unmet expectations. This presentation helped me look at the principles of what adds value to a relationship and what creates a deficit.”  —Damaris A.

“I appreciate Eva fleshing out the three skills of the Yes/No strategy as it provides a guide to verbalizing your authentic Yes and your authentic No.” —Patricia M.

“Eva Papp’s talk was very timely. I’ve recently opened my own practice, and although I love speaking with patients, making my “yeses” be “yes,” and my “nos” be “no” is not my strong suit… Being able to offer a firm “no,” with a non-compromising “yes,” is a way to maintain my own sanity, while also providing the colleague, administrator, or patient with something out of the deal as well. It was a very enjoyable talk; she’s an engaging speaker, and I plan to purchase her book. I highly recommend working with her.” —Thomas C.
